Show your Zermelo information on your narrowcasting screens
In this article you will discover how to connect Zermelo to your narrowcasting displays.
Zermelo Fragments
The “Present Teachers” and “Schedule Changes” are the two available fragments within the CMS.
The Present Teachers Fragment displays teachers who are currently absent and the duration of their absence.
The Schedule Changes Fragment provides an overview of modifications in the class schedule.
Both fragments support customization options such as pagination, colors, logos, and background images, allowing for a personalized user experience.
Domain and Access Token
To retrieve the required data, a domain is required, for example:
https://example.zportal.nl
Additionally, a partner must be created with an authorization code that includes the required read permissions.
Once the authorization code and domain are available, you can provide them to your contact person in the Support department. Your contact person will link these details to your account.
When setting up a Zermelo integration, we recommend consulting the provided link for detailed instructions and advice on configuring the integration correctly and securely.
To use the widgets, certain permissions are required to retrieve the necessary data.

Zermelo Absent Teachers
This fragment displays today’s absent teachers and includes the teacher’s abbreviated name and duration of absence.
The duration can be displayed in three ways:
If a teacher is absent for a few hours within one day, the from/to time is shown.
If a teacher is absent for 8 hours or more within one day, “Absent all day” is displayed.
If the absence spans multiple days and the “Show absence until” option is selected when creating the fragment, “until” is followed by the date the teacher will return.
A maximum of 20 absences can be displayed on the screen. If there are more absences, pagination will be used to display them across multiple pages.

Zermelo Schedule Changes

When creating the fragment, you can specify how many days of changes should be displayed. If there are changes for a particular day, they will appear automatically.
Changes are displayed per lesson hour, spread across two pages covering the first to the eighth hour.
If there are no changes for a specific hour, the message:
“No schedule changes for this hour”
will be displayed.
If there are more changes than can fit on one screen, vertical scrolling will be used to display all changes.
