Follow the guide to generate an ICS (iCalendar) URL for the birthday widget, enabling you to display upcoming birthdays on your Digital Signage screens.
This knowledge base article provides instructions that are applicable to users of Office 365 and Outlook. Please be aware that this manual is not compatible with the Office 365 app. To proceed, you must log in to https://outlook.office.com/ using your email details, and then follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1: Creating Birthdays
Begin by creating a birthday event as follows:
- Double-click on the date of the birthday.
- Give the name of the birthday boy/girl as the title.
- Slide the checkmark from "All day" to the right.
- Select "Repeat every year."
- Click "Save" at the top left.
Step 2: Download Your ICS URL
Follow the steps below to download your personal ICS URL that you can enter later in the Birthday Widget.
- Click on the gear at the top right.
- Select "Calendar" on the left.
- Select "Shared Calendars."
- Select the calendar you like to publish (check the option "can view all details").
- Click on "Publish."
Step 3: Creating the Widget
Follow the steps below to create the birthday widget.
- Click on "Create Clip."
- Go to the birthdays widget under "Special topics" and click on "Add to playlist."
- Enter all fields and select at Birthday input type: ICAL.
- Enter the ICS that you copied at Step 2 and see the birthdays of the upcoming 7 days in the Preview on the right.
