This guide will walk you through the process of setting up the widget, logging in with your LinkedIn account, and configuring the widget to display your desired content.

Widget Requirements:

  • LinkedIn Account: You must have a LinkedIn Business or Company account. Personal accounts are not supported.
  • Company ID: Required for linking your LinkedIn profile with the widget.

Step 1: Logging in with Your LinkedIn Business/Company Account

  1. Access the Widget: Navigate to the LinkedIn widget setup section in your platform.
  2. Login: Click on the "Login with LinkedIn" button.
  3. Account Type: Ensure you log in with a LinkedIn Business or Company account. Personal accounts are not supported and will not work.
  4. Authorization: Follow the on-screen prompts to authorize the widget to access your LinkedIn account.

Additional Notes

  • Content Updates: The widget will automatically update with new content posted on your LinkedIn company page, including the latest posts and hashtags.
  • Images: When your post contains more than 1 image the widget will only show the first image.

Step 2: Obtaining Your Company ID

Once logged in, you’ll need to provide your LinkedIn Company ID to complete the setup.

  1. Go to LinkedIn: Open LinkedIn in your browser.
  2. Access Your Company Profile:
    • Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the LinkedIn homepage.
    • Select your company profile from the drop-down menu.
  3. Find Your Company ID:
    • In the URL bar, look for a string similar to www.linkedin.com/company/xxx-xxx-xxx/.
    • Copy the xxx-xxx-xxx portion from the URL. This is your Company ID.
  4. Enter Company ID: Return to the widget setup page and paste the Company ID into the appropriate field.

Troubleshooting

  • Login Issues: Ensure you are using a LinkedIn Business or Company account. Personal accounts are not supported.
  • Incorrect Company ID: Double-check the ID you entered is correct. It should match the xxx-xxx-xxx format found in the LinkedIn URL.

Step 3: Configuring the Widget

After entering your Company ID, you can configure the widget's display settings:

  1. Hashtags: The widget will automatically display the first four hashtags associated with your company profile. These are typically the hashtags most relevant to your company's content.
  2. Logo:
    • Using LinkedIn Logo: By default, the widget will display the logo from your LinkedIn profile. Note that LinkedIn places a white background behind the logo.
    • Custom Logo: If you prefer to display your logo without the white background, you can upload a custom logo directly in the widget settings.
  3. Reposts: If you repost content on LinkedIn, only your custom message will be displayed in the widget, not the original reposted content.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can successfully set up and customize the LinkedIn widget to enhance your platform with your company's LinkedIn content. This integration allows you to showcase your brand and engage with your audience directly through your LinkedIn profile.
