How to configure a Samsung Tizen 6.5 Screen for digital signage use

(Samsung QBB / QMB series) 


1: Connecting the monitor

Connect the monitor to network and power. Set the on / off switch on the back of the screen to on. Switch on the screen with a remote control

2: Set up

When the monitor is switched on for the first time, you will be automatically guided through a settings menu.

  1. Choose English as the language from the options provided:

2. Choose network, cable or wireless

3: Skip the privacy settings


4: Select the Basic Setup option

5: Choose landscape orientation (also for portrait displays)



6: Disable the Auto Power Off feature by selecting the "Off" option.

7: Select the option for Custom App


A virtual keyboard will appear, prompting you to input the URL.

8: Connect to the Samsung Remote Management (RM) Server (you may skip this step if desired)

9: Set the date and time

Alternatively you can use the network

  • NTP (Network Time Protocol) provides accurate and syncronised time across the Internet
  • Using the remote got to:
    • Menu > System >Time > NTP settings
  • Select: Use
  • Server URL: type  pool.ntp.org  or  time.google.com
  • Time zone: choose your local timezone
  • Click on Save


10: If prompted to set a PIN, you can choose to skip this step.


Once you have completed the setup, select "OK" to proceed. You will then be directed to the main menu. Alternatively, you can press the Home button on the remote control to access the Custom App screen.


The screen will automatically download the Tizen app and establish a connection with the CMS.

You will see a adoption code, please share this code with your CMS contactperson!

From there, you can view your hardware in your Digital Signage account and create content fragments as needed.
