Troubleshooting document for Samsung Tizen Displays

This checklist is designed for troubleshooting Samsung Smart Signage Displays.

If your screen settings do not match (due to a different version of SoC screen or Tizen screen), we recommend consulting the factory settings.

1. Power cable

  • Check: Is the power cable connected properly? Make sure that the cable is properly connected.
  • Standby light : If the standby light is continuously red, the monitor is off.

2. Setting the time

  • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
  • Navigate to System → Time → Set clock.
  • 2. Enter the correct date and time settings.

3. Resetting the monitor

  • Turn off the monitor and turn it on again with the remote control.
  • Wait 15 minutes and check your account to see if the monitor is connected.
  • If the monitor is still disconnected
    • :Turn off the switch on the back.
    • Unplug the power cable, wait 10 minutes and plug it back in
    • .Turn the switch back on.
    • Check in your narrowcasting account if the hardware is now green under Media Players
    • .

4. Network Settings

  • Network Status: Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control and navigate to
    Network → Network Status. Check if the message 'You are connected to the internet' appears.
  • Network Cable: Check if the network cable is properly connected to the back of the monitor.
  • Wi-Fi: If the monitor connects via Wi-Fi, go to Menu → Network → Network Settings, select Wireless Connection, choose the correct network, and enter the password.
  • Network Device: Check if the network device/switch is on and the LAN lights are blinking. If not, restart the device by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Modem/Router: Restart the modem/router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Network Changes: Check with your IT administrator for any changes to firewall or IP settings.

5. URL Launcher

  • Access URL Launcher settings: Go to Menu → URL Launcher Settings.
  • Select 'Install Web App' and verify the required URL in the installation manual for the specific screen type.
  • Navigate to the URL Launcher and start TizenSOC.

6. Auto Source

  • Check if Auto Source is enabled:
    • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
    • Navigate to System → Auto Source Recovery and set Auto Source to ON.

7. Primary Source Recovery

  • Check if Primary Source Recovery is enabled:
    • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
    • Navigate to System → Auto Source Recovery and set Primary Source Recovery to ON.

8. Primary Source

  • Ensure that the Primary Source is set to HDMI:
    • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
    • Navigate to System → Auto Source Recovery and set the source to HDMI.

9. Auto Power

  • Check if Auto Power is enabled:
    • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
    • Navigate to System → Power Control and set Auto Power to ON.

10. Eco Solution

  • Ensure that all Eco Solution options are turned off:
    • Press the 'Menu' button on the remote control.
    • Navigate to System → Eco Solution and turn off all options.

11. Firmware Update

  • Check if your screen has the latest firmware. Contact the Service Center for assistance with updating the firmware.

12. Active Playlist

  • Check in your narrowcasting account if there is an active playlist. Go to Overview per Media Player (for main or sub-users) or Program Playlists (for individual users) and ensure there is a playlist bar for today with a time indication (e.g., 11:00-13:00).

  • Go to Menu → Network → Server Network Settings → Connect to Server.
